This trek is named after the purpose it served in the olden days as it was used for getting salt and silk by the people of Trashigang in the eastern Bhutan from the border town of SamdrupJongkhar. It is an eight day trek from Guwahati in India by road upto the Bhutanese town of Samdrup Jongkhar and really high altitude. Nevertheless, there are long and steep descents and ascents and hence, fairly a tough one.

Day One: Guahati (India)-Samdrupjongkhar (Bhutan)
Day Two: Samdrupjongkhar To Nelang (750 Mtrs)
Day Three: Nelang To Radingphu (686m)
Day Four: Rangdingphu (686m) To Mongling (2218m)
Day Five: Mongling (2218m) To Demrizam (1191m)
Day Six: Demri Zam (1191m) To Denchung ((1231m)
Day Six: Demri Zam (1191m) To Denchung ((1231m)
Day Seven: Denchung (1231m) To Cheya (1442 M)
Day Eight: Cheya (1442 M) To Trashigang
